The Founder of Healing Rooms
John G. Lake was known as “A man of healing.” He was born in Canada in 1870 and came from a family of sickness where doctors and hospitals were a familiar sight. His was a sorrowing household, with a brokenhearted mother and grief-stricken father who laid to rest eight of their children.
The Lord led John G. Lake to Spokane, Washington, to establish The Healing Rooms. Lake and his assistants, who were known as “healing technicians”, prayed for the sick. Over a five-year period, there were more than 100,000 documented healings. Following this astounding time, the U.S. government declared Spokane the healthiest city in the world.
John G. Lake was a man of purpose, vision, strength, and character. His one goal in life was to bring the fullness of God to every person. He often said that the secret of heaven’s power was not in the doing, but in the being. He believed that Spirit-filled believers should enjoy the same type of ministry that Jesus did while living on earth.
“I am the God that healeth thee.” -Exodus 15:26
